BU alumni report on the global phenomenon of forced child marriage

Photographer Stephanie Sinclair and journalist Cynthia Gorney reported on this issue for the June 2011 issue of National Geographic; Sinclair worked with the Pulitzer Center to create a multimedia presentation on the issue that synthesizes her work into a moving call to action.

The Pulitzer Center commissioned additional reporting in Nepal on the consequences of child marriage, especially in regard to maternal mortality, by Global Post journalist Hanna Ingber Win and Anna Tomasulo, a 2011 MS graduate of the Boston University School of Public Health. Anna was the first reporting fellow in the Pulitzer Center’s Campus Consortium partnership with the School of Public Health, the Center for Global Health and Development, and the BU College of Communication.

Gorney, Sinclair, Win and Tomasulo discussed their work in a special presentation at the Boston University Medical Campus, moderated by Pulitzer Center Executive Director Jon Sawyer.
