Boston University Philhellenes – BUPh<\/span> and the Department of Classical Studies at Boston University<\/span><\/a> join forces for the Study in Greece<\/a><\/span> and the BA Program in the Archaeology, History and Literature of Ancient Greece<\/a><\/span> at the University of Athens \u2013 the most prominent Greek state university \u2013 \u00a0to organize the “Voyage into Greek Civilization Summer Program.” This 5-week study abroad offers students the opportunity to dive into Greek culture and history by taking a<\/span> Modern Greek language and culture course taught by Boston University Senior Lecturer Kelly Polychroniou or a 200 Philosophy course: ‘Virtue and the virtues of a leader in ancient Greek Philosophy” taught by Professors from the University of Athens. <\/span>They will also be leading guided tours.\u00a0The courses taken are approved for transfer to Boston University.<\/span> The program also includes weekend trips and guided tours taught by professors from the University of Athens.<\/p>\n What you can expect from the Voyage into Greek Civilization Summer Program:<\/em><\/p>\n May 20th, 2025 to June 24th, 2025<\/p>\n Approximately $6,500 with\u00a0scholarships of $1,500 available for qualified Boston University students.<\/p>\n What is included?<\/p>\n What is not<\/span> included?<\/p>\n Students of all disciplines are encouraged to apply.<\/p>\n December 1st, 2024 to March 7th, 2025<\/p>\n Students who wish to participate in the 2025 Boston University Summer Program in Greece should submit the following materials to the Department of Classical Studies (STH 414) by March 7th, 2025.<\/p>\n Applications will be reviewed in March and students will be notified if their application has been successful.<\/p>\n Students reside in boutique hotel rooms located in the historic heart of Athens, only a few minutes walk from the Acropolis.<\/p>\n Students will have the opportunity to visit famous Greek landmarks and influential moments of the Greek world such as: the Temple of Poseidon in Sounio, the ancient Theatre of Epidaurus, Mycenae, the historic city of Nafplio, and the mythical site of Delphi.
