{"id":7568,"date":"2020-09-28T15:47:54","date_gmt":"2020-09-28T19:47:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/classics\/?page_id=7568"},"modified":"2026-04-17T14:21:22","modified_gmt":"2026-04-17T18:21:22","slug":"ancient-greek-minor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/classics\/academics\/undergraduate-programs\/minors\/ancient-greek-minor\/","title":{"rendered":"Ancient Greek Minor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A minor in Ancient Greek requires a minimum of five courses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The requirements are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>One course in Greek History or Civilization\n<ul>\n<li>CL101 World of Greece<\/li>\n<li>CL321 Greek History<\/li>\n<li>CG101 World of Modern Greece<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Four courses in Ancient Greek Language and Literature above CL162*\n<ul>\n<li>CL 261 Intermediate Ancient Greek 1<\/li>\n<li>CL 262 Intermediate Ancient Greek 2<\/li>\n<li>CL391 Greek Seminar (May be repeated for credit)<\/li>\n<li>CL461 Advanced Greek Seminar (May be repeated for credit)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>* One course may be taken in translation<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>CL224 Greek Drama<\/li>\n<li>CL300 Age of Pericles<\/li>\n<li>CL313 Rejoyce<\/li>\n<li>CL325 Greek Drama and Film<\/li>\n<li>CL359 Cavafy and History<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>This minor will be receiving new requirements which are in the final approval stage. We anticipate that final confirmation for these changes will come before the next academic year (2026-2027). The following are the proposed changes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Minor in Classical Languages: 6 courses<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CAS CL101, CL102, CL321, or CL322<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Five courses in Ancient Greek and\/or Latin<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>One of which must be at the 300-level or above<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A minor in Ancient Greek requires a minimum of five courses.
