Ancient Wisdom and Modern Insights<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL202 <span>Warfare in Antiquity<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL206 <span>Women in Antiquity<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL207 <span>Sexuality in Ancient Greece and Rome<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL213 <span>Greek and Roman Mythology<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL216 <span>Greek and Roman Religion<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL224 <span>Greek Drama in Translation<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL237 <span>Race and Ethnicity in Ancient Greece and Rome<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL249 Classics in Popular Culture<\/li>\n<li>CL300 The Age of Pericles<\/li>\n<li>CL310 <span>The Classical Tradition in Modern Literature<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL313 <span>The &#8220;Odyssey&#8221; and &#8220;Ulysses&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL325\/CI369 <span>Greek Tragedy and Film<\/span><\/li>\n<li>CL359\/CG359 <span>Cavafy and History<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>One course at the 400-level or above in Ancient Greek or CL406.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Learning Outcomes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span>Demonstrate broad understanding of the history and culture of ancient Greece.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Demonstrate sufficient understanding of the vocabulary, morphology, and syntax of ancient Greek to read standard works of the classical period accurately.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Acquire the skills necessary to use dictionaries, grammars, and other resources that aid the reading and understanding of or ancient Greek texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Demonstrate, in their reading of ancient Greek, an understanding of genre, style, cultural context, and the place of the text within the literary history of the ancient world.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Communicate clearly and persuasively, both orally and in writing, ideas about ancient Greek literary texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h6>Revised Fall 2023<\/h6>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In addition to the general requirements that all College of Arts and Science students must require, students with a major in Ancient Greek must also complete the following requirements.
