Paper Garden

Fisher Price World
Imitates Atlantis' Land of heavenly pleasure
and sibilates Plato's plastic whisper that
"Nothing in this world is real."
Seek your gold in hunters' kingdom
and bow to shadow's glittery crown.
Choose the path less traveled
though it is the one many take.
Strum away your senses
and buy your American Dream in Lego pre-built packages.
Live your border to border, North to South.
Guard it so no intruder will disturb all that you have built.
And never mind that you shut your doors and windows
to those who build ideas.
Or that those who measure substance
and speak of existence
have transgressed sufferings
you will never understand.
For you cultivate paper and plastic.
