She is the author of\u00a0<b>ISLAMIST MOBILIZATION IN<\/b> <b>TURKEY: A STUDY IN VERNACULAR POLITICS<\/b> (Seattle: University of Washington Press, 2002), which won the 2003 Douglass Prize for best book in Europeanist anthropology; and\u00a0<strong>MONEY MAKES US RELATIVES: WOMEN&#8217;S LABOR IN URBAN TURKEY <\/strong>(2nd edition, London: Routledge, 2004), as well as numerous articles about Islamic politics, women and Islam, family life, women&#8217;s labor, small commodity production, and Turks in Germany. \u00a0 Her regions of specialization are Turkey, the Middle East, and Europe, particularly Germany. \u00a0 She teaches courses on Turkey and the Middle East, on urban anthropolgy, ethnicity and identity, gender, and anthropological theory.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img src=\"http:\/\/people.bu.edu\/arn\/CK\/Whitebook2.jpg\" \/><img src=\"http:\/\/people.bu.edu\/arn\/CK\/Whitebook.jpeg\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/people.bu.edu\/arn\/CK\/Whitebook3.jpg\" height=\"253\" width=\"184\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jenny B.
