Her current projects range from bolstering research on building codes in the US, to supporting equitable economic development in US small and midsized cities, to identifying ways to facilitate policy adaptation in both US and international contexts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_gmail-font-claude-response-body x_gmail-break-words x_gmail-whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\">Haegi began her career as an underwriter for the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), working with tenants and landlords to preserve and rehabilitate affordable housing in the city. On the economic development side, she worked as an underwriter for a community development finance institution (now TruFund Financial), performing due diligence and underwriting loans for minority- and women-owned businesses, small businesses in low-income communities, and human services nonprofits.
