Mark A. Klopfer

Mr. Klopfer is a LEED accredited, registered landscape architect and architect with twenty-five years of practice experience and twelve years as partner at Klopfer Martin Design Group.  His practice experience centers on design of urban parks, campuses, and development projects, as well as landscape components of urban design master plans. Mr. Klopfer is a Professor of Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology, and has been a member of the landscape or architecture design faculties at Harvard Graduate School of Design, Cornell University, and the Rhode Island School of Design.  He was the 2000-2001 Prince Charitable Trusts Rome Prize winner at the American Academy in Rome. Some of his recent projects include Central Square in East Boston, MA; Roemer Plaza at Suffolk University, The Steel Yard, Box Office and R-Line Improvements in Providence, RI; Fisher Hill Reservoir Park in Brookline, MA;  and Shanghai Bund Waterfront in Shanghai, China. He has also led the landscape components of large-scale, urban design projects including the Sime-Darby/Brunsfield Malaysia Vision Valley plan near Kuala Lumpur, Sowwah Island, Abu Dhabi, the Pittsburgh Riverfront Vision Plan, Cinncinati’s Fort Washington Way, and the Greensboro South Elm Street Redevelopment Plan.
