This is an exciting opportunity to help build the Center\u2019s media presence; hone your research, writing, and interviewing skills; and contribute your ideas about outreach activities to Center leadership. Duties include:<br \/>\n\u2022 Updating Center webpage events, faculty publications, news, and more.<br \/>\n\u2022 Doing independent research to identify social science events, opportunities, and accomplishments for inclusion on Center webpage.<br \/>\n\u2022 Managing Center\u2019s social media accounts (Facebook and Twitter).<br \/>\n\u2022 Assisting with preparation of weekly Mailchimp digests.<br \/>\n\u2022 Assisting with preparation of Center annual report.<br \/>\n\u2022 Working with Center Director in reaching out to BU media sources to cover Center events.<br \/>\n\u2022 Working with Center Director in writing brief articles about Center events, and writing profiles of Center affiliates and student interns.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Outstanding written and oral communication skills.<br \/>\n\u2022 Familiarity with social media and webpage design (or a willingness to learn quickly).<br \/>\n\u2022 Attention to detail and accuracy.<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to meet deadlines.<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent team-player.<br \/>\n\u2022 Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.<br \/>\n\u2022 Preference given to students with a background in social sciences or communications.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time Period:<\/strong> November 2021 through May 2022 (with possible extension)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hours:<\/strong> 8 hours per week (totaling no more than 133 hours for the academic year)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pay:<\/strong> $15 per hour (total stipend of up to $2,500 for 2021-22 academic year)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Location:<\/strong> Much of the work can be done remotely. Periodic meetings will be held on the Charles River campus during regular business hours.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong> Must be eligible to work for pay on campus. May not work more than 20 hours total per week.
