Zakiya Luna is the Dean's Distinguished Professorial Scholar in the Department of Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research is in the areas of social change, sociology of law, health and inequality. Her focus is on social movements, human rights and reproduction with an emphasis on the effects of intersecting inequalities within and across these sites. She is the author of Black Feminist Sociology: Perspectives and Praxis (2022) and Reproductive Rights as Human Rights: Women of Color and the Fight for Reproductive Justice (2020).
