Sabelhaus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"searchHighlight\">Andrew<\/span><span> Sabelhaus is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University and affiliated with the Division of Systems Engineering.\u00a0 <\/span><span>He is also Director of the BU <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.google.com\/site\/apsabelhaus\/soft-robotics-control-lab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Soft Robotics Control Lab, <\/a><\/span><span><\/span><span>where he leads research in combining computational intelligence with embodied intelligence to create robots. <\/span><span>Sabelhaus&#8217; research takes a control-oriented approach to the locomotion of soft and flexible <\/span><span>robots, spanning problems in modeling, feedback, and mechanical design. <\/span><span>His work seeks to make soft robots practical and applicable by integrating AI with the natural robustness of soft mechanisms, allowing a robot to safely complete tasks in unstructured environments.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"display-flex align-items-center\"><span class=\"mr1 t-bold\"> <span>Sabelhaus<\/span> received a PhD, Mechanical Engineering, from the University of California, Berkeley.
