href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/ayse-kivilcim-coskun\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ayse Coskun<\/a> received c<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span>ontinued funding for the multi-year project <a href=\"https:\/\/research.redhat.com\/blog\/research_project\/ai-for-cloud-ops\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">AI for Cloud Ops.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Red Hat Collaboratory, a partnership between Boston University and Red Hat, brings together academic researchers and the open source community to a<span>dvance systems research at a scale that will have a broad impact on society. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #a20902;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">C<span style=\"color: #a20902;\">ISE Faculty Awards &#8211;\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><b>Small Project <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">category<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Improving Cybersecurity Operations Using Knowledge Graphs<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CISE Affiliate <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/david-starobinski\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">David Starobinski<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, along with David Sastre Medina (Red Hat), Zhenpen Shi (BU), and \u015eevval \u015eim\u015fek (BU) aim to improve the workflow and performance of security operations centers, including automating several of its tasks, by leveraging the vast amount of structured and unstructured real-world data available on threats, attacks, and mitigation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HySe: Hypervisor Security Through Component-Wise Fuzzing \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CISE Affiliate <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/manuel-egele\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Manuel Egele<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Muzammil Hussain (BU), and Bandan Das (BU) will design, implement, and evaluate program analysis capabilities that allow the preemptive identification of bugs and vulnerabilities in hypervisor components that use interfaces identified as exposed to potential attackers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Prototyping a Distributed, Asynchronous Workflow for Iterative Near-Term Ecological Forecasting<br \/>\nCISE Affiliate <\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/ioannis-paschalidis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yannis Paschalidis<\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, joined by Michael Dietze (BU), Christopher Tate (Red Hat) and Atefeh Hosseini (BU) will prototype an accessible community infrastructure to generate ecological forecasts at scale, focusing on the development of a cloud-native workflow that can handle an asynchronous, event-driven, distributed approach to execution.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Co-Ops: Collaborative OpenShift-Based Training of Large Open-Source AI Models at Scale<br \/>\n<\/span><\/i>CISE Affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/eshed-ohn-bar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eshed Ohn-Bar<\/a>,<span> along with Adam Smith (BU), Erik Erlandson (Red Hat), Michael Clifford (Red Hat), Lance Galletti (Red Hat), Sanjay Arora (Red Hat), Ruizhao Zhu (BU), Jimuyang Zhang (BU), Yuanming (John) Chai (BU) will develop a set of open source, Red Hat-integrated tools for efficiently and flexibility facilitating diverse and modular collaboration when training AI models for autonomous driving at scale, emphasizing privacy-preserving knowledge sharing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #a20902;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CISE Faculty Awards &#8211;\u00a0 <\/span><b>Speculative Proj<span style=\"color: #a20902;\">ect <\/span><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #a20902;\">ca<\/span>tegory<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Minimal Mobile Systems via Cloud-Based Adaptive Task Processing <\/span><\/i><b><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CISE Affiliate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/eshed-ohn-bar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eshed Ohn-Bar<\/a><\/span>,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> joined by Hee Jae Kim tasks to the cloud, improving performance and making low-cost, cloud-enabled robots accessible for a significantly larger set of users.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Privacy-Preserving, Automated Operational Data Sharing Telemetry Framework \u00a0 <\/span><\/i><b><br \/>\n<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CISE Affiliate <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/profile\/alan-zaoxing-liu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Alan Liu <\/a>will develop an open source automated tracing system to collect, process, and anonymize operational data, focusing on identifying and testing privacy preservation models.<\/p>\n<p><i>Open Source Infrastructure for Secure Educational Data Management to Optimize Treatment and
