MACS winner: Yasaman Khazaeni<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Center for Information and Systems Engineering (CISE) hosted its 3<sup>rd<\/sup> Annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/systems\/seminars-events\/cise-archive\/community-event-archive\/cgsw_3-0\/\">CISE Graduate Student Workshop (CGSW 3.0)<\/a><span>,<\/span> on January, 14, 2016 and was organized by CISE students, Sepideh Pourazarm, Xi Yu and Feng Nan. \u00a0This event, featured talks from 16 CISE graduate students and three newly affiliated CISE faculty bringing together CISE students and faculty to exchange ideas and build community. CGSW 3.0 is also a unique opportunity for students to share their research and practice their presentation skills.<br \/>\nStudent presentations were grouped into four topic related sessions; Healthcare and Biology, Networked Systems, Optimization and Control and Energy Management. Each session featured four presentations by CISE graduate students.<br \/>\nThe three new CISE affiliated faculty, Professors Manuel Egele (ECE), Konstantinos Spiliopoulos (Math\/Stat), and Brian Kulis (ECE) presented an overview of their research projects at the end of the first three sessions.<br \/>\nStudents in the audience voted for the Best CISE student presentations.<br \/>\nThe prize winners were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Julia Lima Fleck: \u201cOptimal Design of Personalized Prostate Cancer Therapy using Infinitesimal Perturbation Analysis\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Matthew Morse: \u201cBridging the Gap between Center and Tail for Multi-Scale Processes\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Joshua Rapp: \u201cSpatially Adaptive Noise Censoring for Photon-Efficient Active Imaging\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each year, the organizers of the workshop devise a game to identify the Most Attentive CISE (MACS) student. This is the student who has attended the most talks.
