Ali described the data related products that Nielsen uses to collect consumer survey data and inform companies about product innovation, price point and product lines. His focus at Nielsen is primarily on the d<\/span><span class=\"s3\">evelopment of advanced analytical tools for measurement and the analysis of the consumer goods market.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"s1\">\u201c<\/span>We are in charge of innovation,\u2026 if companies\u00a0want to come up with a new product, rate a product, find the best pricing and pack size combination of products, or assess the effect of product distribution and advertisement on its near term performance in the market,\u00a0 we can provide answers for them,\u201d said Ali.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">After the roundtable, Ali spoke with students during an informal lunch. Students appreciated the opportunity to learn about a different industry where they can apply their skills.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Ali\u00a0earned\u00a0his PhD in\u00a0Systems Engineering at Boston University\u00a0<span>in 2012.
