His research focuses on machine learning, causal inference, econometrics, online and reinforcement learning, and game theory\/mechanism design.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font-claude-response-body break-words whitespace-normal\" dir=\"ltr\">Before joining Stanford, he was a Principal Researcher at Microsoft Research New England, where he co-led the ALICE project on Automated Learning and Intelligence for Causation and Economics.
