Samuel C. Pinto<\/b> received a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2021 under the supervision of Professor Sean Andersson<\/a><\/strong> (ME, SE) and under close collaboration with Professor Christos Cassandras<\/strong><\/a> (ECE, SE). Samuel received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electronic engineering from Instituto Tecnol\u00f3gico de Aeron\u00e1utica, S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, in 2017 and 2018, respectively. At the Magna Advanced Development Center, he works developing sensor fusion and multi object tracking algorithms for autonomous driving systems. His research interests include robotics, autonomous driving and the intersection between estimation and control.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"\/cise\/files\/2022\/09\/david-e1664573311635.png\")
David Doria <\/b>holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. His research was focused on LiDAR data analysis including object detection, segmentation, and 3D hole filling. After spending some time in Defense research labs, he spent many years at HERE Technologies<\/a><\/span> building and leading teams to develop, implement, and productionize algorithms for computer vision-based automatic creation of High Definition maps. Most recently he has joined Magna as Director of Engineering for the Autonomous Driving division. David leads Magna\u2019s Advanced Development Center in Boston – the next step in Magna’s vision to lead the way in the ever-growing market of high-tech mobility. The Center drives many initiatives from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to state-of-the-art sensors and vehicle architectures.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"\/cise\/files\/2022\/10\/magna-logo-rgb-hr-v1-0-636x140.jpg\"){kind=logo}
