{"id":30903,"date":"2021-02-18T11:50:36","date_gmt":"2021-02-18T16:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/?page_id=30903"},"modified":"2023-09-16T08:55:28","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T12:55:28","slug":"cise-speakers","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cise\/resources\/faculty-forms\/cise-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Nominate a CISE Speaker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>CISE welcomes speaker nominations\u00a0 for Seminars, Invited Lectures, Industry Roundtables, and other events from affiliated faculty and students. <span>Faculty are encouraged to nominate a maximum of 2 speakers per semester. \u00a0<\/span>Please complete the form below for consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, for CISE Seminars, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">we will send your request to the Seminar Organizing Committee (SOC)<\/span>: Professors Wenchao Li, Alex Olshevsky, and Sheila Russo. <span class=\"s1\">The SOC will give special attention to (i) area coverage (ii) high-visibility or strategic speakers and (iii) local speakers. <\/span><span class=\"s1\">Upon SOC acceptance, CISE will contact the host who<span> nominated the speaker.\u00a0 Hosts<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><span> are responsible for arranging the event date with the speaker.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"s1\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">When the speaker has accepted a date, the faculty host will send an email to <a href=\"mailto:cpolyzos@bu.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Christina Polyzos<\/a> \u00a0with the speaker\u2019s contact information and seminar date.\u00a0 CISE will <\/span><span class=\"s1\">send an official invitation, and as needed, can arrange hotel accommodations. Speakers must make their own travel arrangements.
