She is the author of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.hup.harvard.edu\/catalog.php?isbn=9780674976979\"><em>From Domestic Women to Sensitive Young Men:\u00a0Translating the Individual in Early Colonial Korea<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(Cambridge: Harvard University Press, Asia Center, 2017), which won the James B. Palais Book Prize of the Association for Asian Studies in 2020. Her edited volume\u00a0<em>Routledge Handbook of Modern Korean Literature<\/em>\u00a0came out in 2020 (the introduction is available<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/books\/reader?id=X1LZDwAAQBAJ&amp;hl=en&amp;pg=GBS.PT12.w.0.0.158\">here<\/a>). Her latest articles are \u201cInterracial Romance, Unlawful Marriage: Transpacific Encounters in Early Korean American Literature\u201d (included in her edited volume) and \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/read.dukeupress.edu\/journal-of-korean-studies\/article\/23\/2\/423\/135569\/Madness-Medicine-and-Masculinity-in-Kim-Tongin-s\">Madness, Medicine, and Masculinity: Kim Tongin\u2019s \u201cOh, Frail-hearted!\u201d (1919\u20131920)<\/a>\u201d in\u00a0<em>The Journal of Korean Studies<\/em>\u00a023:2 (October, 2018).\u00a0 She is currently translating early colonial Korean short stories and essays published between 1907 and 1918 (for the MLA Texts and Translations series) while working on a book-length study tentatively titled \u201cUnder the Medical Gaze: Illness, Gender, and Colonialism in Korean Literature.\u201d At the same time, she is expanding her research interests to Asian American and Transpacific literature.
