At the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chiefhealthoffice\/\">Chief Health Office<\/a>, the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff are our top priority. Please see below for information about our COVID-19 policies, upcoming Flu and COVID-19 Immunization Clinics, general information about respiratory illnesses, and where to order a free rapid antigen COVID-19 test.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The University COVID-19 vaccination policy can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chiefhealthoffice\/bu-covid-19-policies\/\">Chief Health Office<\/a> webpage and is also below.<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>General Population<\/strong>: We strongly recommend that everyone stay up to date with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/covid\/vaccines\/stay-up-to-date.html?CDC_AAref_Val=https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/vaccines\/stay-up-to-date.html\">CDC COVID-19 vaccination<\/a> recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Healthcare personnel working in Boston University <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/healthcare\/who-are-bus-healthcare-providers\/\"><strong>DPH-licensed<\/strong><\/a><strong> healthcare facilities: <\/strong>DPH-licensed healthcare personnel are required to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or submit a declination after reviewing the risks and benefits of vaccination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Medical, Dental, and Physician Assistant Students<\/strong>: These students will be required to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination or submit a declination after reviewing the risks and benefits of vaccination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>COVID-19 and Flu Immunization Clinics<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We recommend everyone stay up to date with annual COVID-19 and flu vaccinations. To help protect our community, COVID-19 and flu immunization clinics for students, faculty, and staff, are scheduled throughout the fall semester, beginning on the Medical Campus on <strong>September 30<\/strong>. Students may use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/shs\/getting-started\/using-patient-connect\/\">Patient Connect<\/a> and employees may visit the Occupational Health Center <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/buohc\/covid-19-flu\/flu-scheduling\/\">website<\/a> to schedule their vaccination appointments on the Medical Campus <strong>now<\/strong>. Appointments for Flu and COVID-19 vaccinations on the Charles River Campus will open on Tuesday, <strong>October 8<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Guidelines for Respiratory Illness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We encourage you to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/info-details\/protect-yourself-and-others-from-getting-sick\">protect yourself and others from getting sick<\/a> this fall and winter. Free rapid antigen COVID-19 tests will be available for households through the US Government. <a href=\"https:\/\/aspr.hhs.gov\/COVID-19\/Test\/Pages\/default.aspx\">Order a test online<\/a> at the end of September.<\/p>\n<p>If you are sick with a respiratory virus, including COVID-19, please stay home until your symptoms improve. MA Department of Public Health <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/info-details\/staying-home-to-prevent-the-spread-of-respiratory-viruses\">guidelines<\/a> have evolved to align COVID-19 with other common respiratory diseases like influenza. It is recommended to stay home and away from others until your symptoms are improving<em> and <\/em>you are fever-free for at least 24 hours. If you need to be around others while feeling ill, please wear a mask while you are experiencing symptoms and for at least 5 days if you test positive for COVID-19. Healthcare personnel continue to have specific return to work <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mass.gov\/guidance\/guidance-for-health-care-personnel-with-sars-cov2-infection-or-exposure\">guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wishing you all a healthy academic year ahead,<\/p>\n<p>Judy T.
