His efforts have lead to three publications thus far (most recently a first author <a href=\"http:\/\/pubs.rsc.org\/en\/content\/articlelanding\/2013\/sc\/c3sc51861b\">paper in <em>Chemical Science<\/em><\/a><em>) <\/em>and several presentations at national meetings.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_6749\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-6749\" style=\"width: 126px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"\/chemistry\/files\/2010\/08\/vertex_logo_small.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/chemistry\/files\/2010\/08\/vertex_logo_small.jpg\" alt=\"Vertex Pharmaceuticals\" title=\"Vertex Logo Small\" class=\"size-full wp-image-6749 \" height=\"60\" width=\"116\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-6749\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Vertex Pharmaceuticals<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Matt is the fourth Vertex Scholar in the Department. The award is made possible by <a title=\"Vertex Pharmaceuticals\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vrtx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Vertex Pharmaceuticals<\/a>, a biotechnology company based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Each award funds a student\u2019s stipend, fees, and travel to conferences for one year. \u00a0 As part of its aim to promote cooperation between industry and academia, Vertex provides the Scholars with access to mentoring from their scientists.
