Professor Kevin Smith Accepts Joint Appointment with Chemistry Department
In recognition of the important role chemistry plays in his scholarship, the Chemistry Department has extended a joint appointment to Professor Kevin Smith of the Boston University Physics Department. Prof. Smith’s research is highly interdisciplinary, involving aspects of physics, chemistry, and materials science. He uses high-resolution versions of x-ray fluorescence and photoemission spectroscopies to study electronic structure in solids and on surfaces, including ordered thin films of organic materials.
