{"id":382,"date":"2023-03-29T13:12:06","date_gmt":"2023-03-29T17:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chass\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=382"},"modified":"2023-07-21T14:51:13","modified_gmt":"2023-07-21T18:51:13","slug":"maxwell-palmer","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/chass\/people\/maxwell-palmer\/","title":{"rendered":"Maxwell Palmer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span>Maxwell Palmer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science, the Director of Advanced Programs (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/polisci\/undergrad\/ba-ma-program\/\">BA\/MA<\/a><span>\u00a0and the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/polisci\/undergrad\/political-science-honors-program\/\">Honors\u00a0Program<\/a><span>), and a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cds-faculty\/people\/fellowships\/civic-tech-fellows\/\">Civic Tech Fellow<\/a><span>\u00a0in the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/maxwellpalmer.com\/bu.edu\/cds-faculty\/\">Faculty of Computing &amp; Data Sciences<\/a><span>, and a Faculty Fellow at the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ioc\/\">Initiative on Cities<\/a><span>. He joined the Department and Boston University in 2014, after receiving his Ph.D. in Political Science at Harvard University. He studies study American political institutions, including Congress, electoral institutions, and local political institutions, with a particularly focus on how institutional arrangements and rules impact representation and policy outcomes.
