Availability, Scheduling, and Reserving a Date and Time

Availability

Marsh Chapel is available for weddings primarily to members of the Boston University community (students, faculty, staff, and alumni) and secondarily to those with no University affiliation. Roman Catholics intending to be married in the Chapel should refer to the enclosed set of requirements for Catholic weddings before reserving a wedding date and time.

Please, email or call us prior to sending in your application to find out if the date and time are available.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email the wedding director at marshchapelweddings@gmail.com.

Scheduling

Wedding ceremonies may be scheduled to start at the following times:

  • Weekdays: Between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm
  • Saturdays: Between 9:00 am and 8:00 pm
  • Sundays: 3:00 pm

A three hour time blocks will be reserved for each wedding ceremony; one hour before and two hours after the scheduled ceremony start-time. All dates and times are subject to approval.

Wedding rehearsals may be scheduled to start at the following times:

  • Weekdays: Between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm
  • Saturdays: Between 10:00 am and 7:00 pm
  • Sundays: Between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm

A one hour time block will be reserved for each wedding rehearsal. All dates and times are subject to approval. Everyone in the wedding party must be in attendance at the wedding rehearsal.

If your wedding or wedding rehearsal is delayed more than 30 minutes, the Chapel reserves the right to move your wedding or wedding rehearsal to Robinson Chapel, which is located on the lower level and seats 45.

University and religious events have priority over the scheduling of weddings and rehearsals. For instance, wedding reservations are not made during Orientation/Registration weekend in September, Commencement weekend in May, Holy Week, University Holidays, and the University Winter Intersession.

Reserving a Date and Time

We cannot reserve the date and time for your wedding until we have received your wedding application, the Music Consultation Fee, and a deposit of 50% of the Space Use Fee.

If you are ready to submit an application, the wedding application can be found here.

Receptions

Facilities for a reception are not available in the Chapel, although other excellent campus facilities are available.

The Castle, located only a block away from the Chapel, is an excellent option. For more information about the Castle, please visit their website or call 617-353-3520.

For other spaces on campus, such as the Metcalf Trustee Center, please contact the Events & Conferences office.
