Students will only receive Boston University units if courses have been approved.\u00a0Grades earned outside of Boston University do not apply to a student&#8217;s Grade Point Average. Transfer units are only awarded for approved external courses where the grade earned is \u201cC\u201d or higher. Pass\/Fail and audited courses are not accepted. Information on CGS&#8217;s Transfer Unit Policy can be found in the <a title=\"Policies- Transfer Credit\" href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/cgs\/policies\/transfer-credit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> BU\u00a0Bulletin<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Please refer to the links below for the appropriate Transfer Unit policy based on when you intend to take external courses:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cgs\/resources-for-current-students\/policies\/transfer-units\/incoming-first-year-students\/\">Incoming First-Year Students (Pre-Matriculation)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cgs\/resources-for-current-students\/policies\/transfer-units\/current-students\/\">Current Students (Post-Matriculation)<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>CGS Students who need to take a course externally to make up for a CGS required course should consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cgs\/resources-for-current-students\/policies\/transfer-units\/cgs-required-course-evaluation\/\">CGS Required Course Evaluation Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>CGS Students interested in transferring credits taken abroad should consult the <a title=\"BU Abroad: External Programs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/abroad\/explore-programs\/explore-programs-external-programs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Study Abroad website <\/a>for details.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Transfer Unit Policy It is generally expected that undergraduate students in the College of General Studies will complete their required courses at Boston University.
