One area of focus at the Center for Global Christianity and Mission is the study of the collaborative and ecumenical mission networks which emerged in the mid-19th century and have connected Christians around the world across lines of denomination and tradition up to the present day. Such networks are a significant means by which Christian practices, theologies, and spiritualities are shaped and shared. They also facilitate the church’s response to major secular forces such as modernity, nationalism, and decolonization. CGCM faculty and staff research interests in this area include the ways in which migration, nationalism and internationalism, Christian political engagement, empire, student movements, and cross-cultural relationships impact the formation and function of these global and ecumenical networks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
