Early Modern Christianity

The Center for Global Christianity and Mission seeks to foster research that places early modern Christianity in a global context. The European Reformations—Catholic, Protestant, and Radical—are being situated among larger transnational flows and connections. Mission is studied as a movement embedded in expanding global networks among diverse local communities spread around the world. For faculty and students, early modern Christianity is approached both globally and from within geographic areas of specialization, including Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America. This ensures that at Boston University the study of early modern Christianity is simultaneously research on World Christianity.
