Funding is available on a rolling basis for both individual researchers and collaborative, interdisciplinary teams. Proposals should align with one or more of CFD&#8217;s four research pillars:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li><strong>Healthy Lives and Meaningful Livelihoods<\/strong><br \/>\nInvestigating the intersection of health, well-being, and economic opportunities for displaced populations, including access to healthcare, education, and sustainable livelihoods.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Art, Expression, Identities<\/strong><br \/>\nExploring the roles of art, culture, and identity in the lives of displaced individuals and communities, including how creative practices can foster resilience and agency.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Human Environments and Climates<\/strong><br \/>\nExamining the relationships between displacement, environmental change, and climate adaptation, focusing on the impact of ecological shifts and strategies for sustainable living.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Training and Ethical Engagement<\/strong><br \/>\nPromoting ethical and effective practices in research and engagement with displaced populations, including the development of training programs and collaborative methodologies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Individual researchers or interdisciplinary teams focusing on forced displacement-related issues and research.<\/li>\n<li>Projects must clearly connect to one or more CFD research pillars and propose innovative approaches to understanding or addressing forced displacement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Funding Details:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\n<li>Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with no fixed deadline.<\/li>\n<li>Funding amounts will vary depending on project scope and objectives.<\/li>\n<li><span>The PI (for the individual grant) and at least one of the PIs (for the team grant) must be a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfd\/the-center\/associated-faculty\/\"><span>CFD Affiliate Faculty<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0member.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>CFD would like to support projects with long-term plans, and we encourage all applicants to think beyond this seed grant and include plans for follow-up funding in their application.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong><span>Application Materials:<\/span>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>A short (2-page) research proposal which should include<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>The goals of the proposed research, its significance, its potential impact, and connection with one of the four themes of CFD<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>A description of the research team: collaborators and schools represented\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>A description of the interdisciplinary nature of the project for individual researchers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Anticipated research outcomes<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Plans for follow-on funding<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Timeline of the proposed project<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>CV (2 page maximum) of PI and co-PI<\/span>\u00a0(if relevant)<\/li>\n<li><span>Budget (funding may be used for student or post-doctoral scholar support and fringe benefits, travel, or supplies.
