{"id":1941,"date":"2024-05-15T12:49:07","date_gmt":"2024-05-15T16:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfd\/?page_id=1941"},"modified":"2024-05-15T12:49:07","modified_gmt":"2024-05-15T16:49:07","slug":"cfd-research-methods-fellowship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfd\/cfd-research-methods-fellowship\/","title":{"rendered":"CFD Research Methods Fellowship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Center on Forced Displacement Summer Fellows Program offers graduate students (enrolled in master\u2019s or doctoral programs) from across Boston University an opportunity to engage in expanding their research skills and designing and organizing qualitative research workshops, training materials, and contributing to the Center&#8217;s overall research program development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 10-week fellowship (June 2024 \u2013 August 2024) includes a financial stipend of $6,000, and mentorship provided by the Center on Forced Displacement staff.\u00a0 It is designed for graduate students interested in building their skills as research coordinators and those who want to gain experience in building research systems and training others in different qualitative methods.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some of the responsibilities of a research fellow include but are not limited to:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creating a library of resources and training materials for CFD staff and research assistants focusing on different qualitative methods of data collection and analysis\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Training CFD staff and research assistants in qualitative data analysis using software such as NVivo and Dedoose\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Providing training materials and designing workshops on running focus groups and conducting interviews\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assisting CFD researchers in designing training materials and guides for conducting systematic literature reviews for specific CFD projects\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assisting CFD researchers in coordinating research teams and designing new research projects\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fellows are expected to engage with events and\u00a0 ongoing activities at the Center on Forced Displacement and participate fully in all Summer Fellows events for the duration of the 10-week program. First-year master\u2019s and early- to mid-stage doctoral students are especially encouraged to apply. (Students completing degrees in May 2024 are not eligible.)
