A frequent<br \/>\ncollaborator in chamber music concerts and festivals, he has been<br \/>\nfeatured as concerto soloist with numerous orchestras. Young has<br \/>\nappeared in the Tanglewood, Aspen, Banff, Davos, Sunflower,<br \/>\nGateway, Brevard, and St. Barth&#8217;s music festivals and is a founding<br \/>\nmember of the innovative chamber ensemble Innuendo. His<br \/>\nperformances have been broadcast on National Public Radio,<br \/>\nWQED in Pittsburgh, WITF in Harrisburg, and WGBH in Boston. He has performed frequently with singer\/songwriter James Taylor,<br \/>\nincluding the nationally televised concert &#8220;James Taylor Live at the<br \/>\nBeacon Theatre&#8221; in New York City. Young was formerly on the<br \/>\nfaculties of Boston Conservatory, New England Conservatory<br \/>\nSchool of Continuing Education, and Longy School of Music. He is<br \/>\ncurrently on the faculty of Berklee College of Music and is active in<br \/>\nProject STEP \u2014 String Training and Education Program for<br \/>\nstudents of color. From 1991 to 1996 he was a Harvard-appointed<br \/>\nresident tutor and director of concerts in Dunster House at Harvard<br \/>\nUniversity. His teachers included Elinor Osborn, Michael Grebanier,<br \/>\nAnne Martindale Williams, and Aldo Parisot. Young holds both<br \/>\nbachelor&#8217;s and master&#8217;s degrees from Yale University. He was a<br \/>\nTanglewood Music Center Fellow in 1986 and 1987. After winning<br \/>\nan Orchestra Fellowship in 1987, he played with the Atlanta<br \/>\nSymphony Orchestra in 1988 and with the Boston Symphony<br \/>\nOrchestra in 1988-89.
