Tuition and Fees<\/span><\/h3>\n

Tuition for online graduate students in the College of Fine Arts is broken down by credit, and when compared to other universities of our stature, the value of an education at Boston University becomes evident. Remember you may qualify for federal student loans and\/or private loans. Our admissions staff can facilitate answers to questions concerning tuition, federal loans, and\/or private student loans.<\/p>\n

Tuition is charged as follows for students enrolled in online degree programs and courses.<\/p>\n

** Doctoral students are required to pay continuing studies fees each Fall and Spring while taking qualifying examinations and writing their dissertation until they present a final seminar.

CFA students taking courses in the online program should register for a maximum of two 4-unit courses per semester (8 units). Boston University considers students registered for 12 units per semester to be full-time and are charged the Boston University full-time tuition rate<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Financial Aid<\/h3>\n

Boston University College of Fine Arts is not able to offer any scholarship, assistantship, or grant aid to students in our online programs, and the College of Fine Arts does not participate in the TEACH or other federal grant programs.<\/p>\n

Federal student loans (Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan and Grad PLUS loans) are the only type of aid offered through BU for students in our online programs. At the College of Fine Arts we can administer the two primary graduate federal loans, the Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan and the Federal Grad PLUS Loan. All of the College of Fine Arts online programs qualify for federal loans. These loans are not need-based and will not be automatically offered with admission, but rather will be awarded upon request. Students enrolled full-time in an online program (4 units per session) are typically eligible to receive as much loan aid as is needed.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Sharing a mutual vision of improving professional growth and development opportunities for art and music administrators and educators,\u00a0<\/span>Boston University College of Fine Arts (CFA)<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<\/span>Boston Public Schools (BPS)<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>have partnered to offer BPS employees a discounted tuition rate scholarship towards a master\u2019s degree in art or music education at BU College of Fine Arts.<\/p>\n

BPS employees are now eligible to receive the BPS Scholarship offered by CFA, amounting to 33% of the then-current tuition rate, when they apply and are admitted to one of the following master\u2019s programs:\u00a0<\/span>Master of Arts in Art Education (on-campus)<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Master of Arts in Art Education (online)<\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Master of Music in Music Education (on-campus)<\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Master of Music in Music Education (online)<\/a>.<\/p>\n
