The following is a summary of guidelines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Transfer credit must be taken in an accredited program at an accredited college or university.<\/li>\n<li>A minimum grade of B- is required in any course for which a student seeks transfer credit.\u00a0*This may vary by individual program and\/or course.<\/li>\n<li>Courses receive no more than the number of credits earned at the host institution, (e.g. if a course is worth 3 semester credits at the outside college or university, it will transfer in as 3 credits to BU; courses taken on a trimester or quarter system will be converted to semester credits accordingly).<\/li>\n<li>Courses must carry a minimum of 2.5 Boston University credits, and must be offered by the graduate schools and colleges of Boston University, to be accepted for transfer (or application; PhD students only).<\/li>\n<li>During the fall and spring semesters, CFA students may not enroll concurrently at BU and another institution.<\/li>\n<li>Students enrolled in the College of Fine Arts should request that an official transcript from the external institution be sent to the BU Credit Evaluation Office by email: <a href=\"mailto:CEtscrpt@bu.edu\" title=\"mailto:CEtscrpt@bu.edu\" data-outlook-id=\"c4990091-d440-4f02-945f-b4146d0effd9\"><span>CEtscrpt@bu.edu<\/span><\/a> or in-person to the following address: <span>Credit Evaluation Department, 881 Commonwealth Avenue 2<\/span><sup><span>nd<\/span><\/sup><span> Floor, Boston, MA 02215.<\/span>\u00a0External transfer credit cannot be awarded without receipt of an official transcript from the host institution.<\/li>\n<li>All<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/academics\/policies\/transfer-of-undergraduate-credit-from-us-institutions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">undergraduate transfer policies<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>that are in place for undergrads, are applicable to graduate students.<\/li>\n<li>PhD students may use courses previously allowed to fulfill requirements for another program\/degree.
