Collection and Services<\/h3>\n

The Visual Arts Research and Resource Library is a non-circulating collection of books, exhibition catalogues, directories, magazines, and sound and video recordings available for BU SVA students and faculty. New books are added annually, and acquisition recommendations are always welcome. The Research and Resource Library houses an over 6,000-volume reference collection, which includes many rare and unique items.<\/p>\n

The library’s digital resources include Apple desktop computers equipped with Adobe Creative Cloud and a large-format digital scanner. A collection of digital equipment, including still and video cameras, projectors, audio recording equipment, lighting kits, and more, are available for short terms loans to BU SVA students and faculty. The Visual Arts Research and Resource Library hosts events throughout the semester where students can learn from BU SVA faculty members <\/span>about their research and the classes they teach and from members of the BU community about campus resources that will support their academic and artistic work.\u00a0 Food is provided, and all are welcome.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resource Share: BU Study Abroad Venice Info Session<\/strong>
\nWednesday, September 17 5-6pm<\/strong>
\nJoin staff from BU Study Abroad and Venice program alumni to have some Italian treats and learn about the Venice Study Abroad program, which is open to BU SVA undergrads, Visual Arts minors, and Architectural Studies majors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Resource Share: Image and Research Resources Choose Your Own Adventure<\/strong>
\nWednesday, October 22 noon-1pm<\/strong>
\nDid you know you have a librarian who’s here to help you with doing research and finding images and sources for your work as an artist? As the Visual Arts Librarian, Eva Sclippa<\/a>‘s job is to help art students with their research and information needs. Join us for a choose your own adventure session, where you’ll be able to decide which of several topics to have her cover. These include finding images (of artwork, or open access\/public domain images you can freely use in your own work); finding books and articles for things like artist’s statements, theses, or research papers; and understanding copyright.

Resource Share: Internships and Work Opportunities<\/strong>
\nFriday, November 7 3-4pm
\nLearn about SVA students’ recent internship and work experiences, what they learned during the process, and what they wish they had known at the start. We\u2019ll also discuss resources on campus and online for finding positions, polishing resumes, and prepping for interviews.<\/span><\/p>\n
