Kahn Career Entry Award Fund<\/strong> was established in 1985 with an endowed contribution of $1 million from Esther Kahn (Wheelock\u201955, Hon.\u201986). Each spring, students completing their last semester of graduate or undergraduate studies are eligible to compete for the award.<\/p>\n<p>Past recipients of the award include opera stars Stephen Salters (CFA\u201991,\u201994) and Dominique Labelle (CFA\u201989), TV and theater scene designer Antje Ellermann (CFA\u201994), and actor Russell Hornsby (CFA\u201996). It was the intention of the donor, Mrs. Esther Kahn, to award one-year grants. This year\u2019s awards will total $45,000. Six final candidates (two per School) will be chosen and will each receive $5,000. The final award winner will be chosen from the final candidate pool and will receive an additional $15,000 for a total grand prize of $20,000.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The awards are based on a combination of talent, artistic accomplishments, strength of application and presentation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" id=\"pink\" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h5 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Application &amp; Selection Process<\/h5><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each School will select two final candidates for the consideration of the Selection Committee. Each finalist will be asked to deliver a brief (10-12 minute) presentation in which they provide an overview of the written application, share examples of their work in the visual and performing arts.
