Boston University College of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts, in collaboration with Massachusetts College of Art and Design and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, presents Boston Young Contemporaries 2025\u2014a revitalized cross-institutional exhibition showcasing work by current and just graduated (class of 2025) MFA students from all three schools.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Presented as an extension of the Spring 2025 Open Studios, the exhibition builds on a tradition launched over twenty years ago by Boston University MFA students and returns with support from the Wagner Foundation. The 2025 edition is juried by Selby Nimrod\u2014a Cambridge-based curator, writer, researcher, and the inaugural Director of Exhibitions and Commons at MIT\u2019s School of Architecture + Planning\u2014and highlights the next generation of artists working across disciplines and across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2025 Open Studios<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In March 2025, Boston University, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University hosted the first ever citywide Open Studios event, providing fine arts students with the unique opportunity to present their work to a broader audience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cRight now, it feels like a very vibrant time to be an artist in Boston, and I\u2019m very hopeful for the kind of galleries and speakers and curators that are now in the city,\u201d S. Billie Mandle, associate professor of photography at MassArt, said. \u201cThis is an attempt to bring all of our MFA students into that vibrancy, and to sort of break down some of the barriers that exist between the institutions and the larger communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
