The program aims to develop a complete theatre artist by fostering a passion for theatre, storytelling, design, and the collaborative process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 id=\"headline-1\" class=\"wp-block-editorial-headline\">As a BFA or MFA Lighting Design student, you&#8217;ll&#8230;<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Critically <strong>ANALYZE<\/strong> a wide range of texts, music, movement, and design<\/li><li><strong>CREATE AND INTERPRET<\/strong> visual, conceptual, and emotional responses<\/li><li><strong>COMMUNICATE THROUGH LIGHT AND DESIGN<\/strong> these responses to an audience in support of the theatrical experience<\/li><\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>BU lighting design students have the opportunity to work collaboratively on every aspect of a production, from planning to creating the design ideas, hanging lights, programming, cueing, and executing the design in performance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ranked as one of the best stage lighting design programs in the nation by <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.careersinmusic.com\/stage-lighting-design\/\" target=\"_blank\">Careers in Music<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.onstageblog.com\/editorials\/2019\/9\/19\/the-top-30-college-theatre-design-and-tech-programs-for-2019-2020\" target=\"_blank\">OnStage Blog<\/a>, BU&#8217;s lighting design programs provide a unique opportunity for a young student designer to discover how light can support story themes, text, music, and movement.
