Boston University College of Fine Arts welcomes ad legend Frank Ginsberg (CFA’65) as the 2022 CFA Convocation Speaker. Ginsberg is the founder, chairman, and CEO of AFG& (formerly known as Avrett Free Ginsberg), a global full-service advertising agency based in New York City. His style and vision have helped build brands like Purina Cat Chow, U.S. Trust, Financial Times, Thomson Reuters, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Bacardi Rums, and Van Cleef & Arpels, among others.<\/p>\n

Ginsberg discovered his passion for advertising in the late ’60s when a CFA classmate helped him land a job at Grey Advertising as an assistant art director on the Revlon account. In 1971, he joined experienced copywriters Jack Avrett and Marcella Free in launching a new firm, where he soon became a partner. Free eventually retired and Avrett passed away in 1997, leaving Ginsberg to run the agency alone.<\/p>\n

Ginsberg oversees more than 100 employees working in the United States and Europe. \u201cMy job encompasses everything I love,\u201d he says, \u201cfilm, art, writing, editing, design, color, people, problem-solving, storytelling.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n
