The AIA New England recognized the Boston University Joan & Edgar Booth Theatre<\/a> and College of Fine Arts Production Center<\/a> with an Honor Award during their virtual awards ceremony on September 25, 2020. With an eye-catching fa\u00e7ade designed to evoke a theatre proscenium, this 75,000-sf facility unifies the College of Fine Arts School of Theatre and supports all aspects of theatre production and performance arts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The project is funded in part by a\u00a0<\/span>naming gift<\/a>\u00a0of $10 million from\u00a0<\/span>BU trustee Steve Zide (LAW\u201986). The theatre is named after Steve\u2019s theatre-loving wife, Janet Zide\u2019s parents, Joan and Edgar Booth. Edgar Booth passed away recently, but Zide\u2019s mother-in-law, Joan Booth, remains an active patron of the arts and a Broadway aficionado.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
