The repertoire for this concert will be Lili Boulanger &#8211; D\u2019un matin de printemps; Igor Stravinsky &#8211; Pulcinella Suite; Igor Stravinsky &#8211; Le Sacre du printemps.<\/p>\n<h5>Concert Details<\/h5>\n<p>Monday, November 13 at 8:00pm.<br>\nSymphony Hall, 301 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston<br>\nTickets are $25 general admission, $10 student, and free with a Boston University ID<br>\nBox Office: bso.org; 888-266-1200<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bramwell Tovey<\/strong> joined the Boston University School of Music as Director of Orchestral Activities earlier this fall. Since 2000 he has served as Music Director of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO), and will assume the title of Music Director Emeritus beginning in 2018. Among his many noteworthy accomplishments, Tovey and the VSO, with violinist James Ehnes, won a GRAMMY\u00ae and a JUNO award in 2008 for their recording of Barber, Korngold and Walton concertos. In 2015, Tovey was awarded the Oscar Morawetz Award for Excellence in Music Performance. A noted composer, he won the JUNO Award for Best Classical Composition in 2003. In addition to being an accomplished conductor and composer, Tovey is a talented pianist and has appeared as soloist with orchestras around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>Tovey\u2019s first performance with the Boston University orchestral program occurred at the Tsai Performance Center on Wednesday, September 27, in a program consisting of of Sergei Prokofiev &#8211; Romeo and Juliet: Suite from the Complete Ballet, Op.64; Frederick Delius &#8211; The Walk to Paradise Garden (from \u201cA Village Romeo and Juliet\u201d); Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky &#8211; Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 30, 2017 World-renowned conductor Bramwell Tovey leads&nbsp;Boston University musicians at Symphony Hall on Monday, November 13.
