Boston University College of Fine Arts Presents <\/em><\/strong>Spectral Music Festival<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n

BU Center for New Music conducts 10-day music festival showcasing early works by Grisey and Murail and recent works by Leroux and GF Haas \u2014 April 4<\/p>\n

Boston, MA\u2014<\/strong> The Center for New Music<\/u> at College of Fine Arts<\/u> at Boston University presents 10-day festival of Spectral Music with guest composer Philippe Leroux \u2014 April 4-13, 2017.<\/em><\/p>\n

The festival will explore the trend of Spectral Music from its early works by Grisey and Murail into the present with recent works by Philippe Leroux and GF Haas. Concerts will include performances from New York-based Argento Ensemble, a Boston premiere from Center for New Music director Joshua Fineberg and a US premiere of Tristan Murail\u2019s monumental Liber fugeralis <\/em>for Ensemble and live video.<\/p>\n

Guest composer, Philippe Leroux is one of today\u2019s leading international composers, his large body of music (seventy pieces to date) is widely performed\u00a0in throughout the world on the most important festivals and concert series.\u00a0He has worked with leading ensembles and orchestras, and has lectured and taught\u00a0throughout the world\u00a0\u2014 notably as\u00a0\u00a0the composition professor at IRCAM\u2019s Cursus from 2001-2006\u2014\u00a0and now teaches composition at McGill University and\u00a0serves as composer-in-residence at Ensemble MEITAR in Tel-Aviv.<\/p>\n
