In September, as part of 2024 Alumni Weekend festivities, the BU Alumni Association presented its highest honor to five outstanding individuals, among them two CFA alums: Emmy-winning and Tony-nominated actor Uzo Aduba<\/strong> (CFA\u201905) and lauded actor and activist Michelle Hurd<\/strong> (CFA\u201988).<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Each year, the Boston University Alumni Association recognizes Terriers who have gone above and beyond to make a difference in their fields with Distinguished Alumni Awards and the Young Alumni Award.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recent recipients of the Distinguished Alumni Awards<\/a> include COVID vaccine developer Drew Weissman<\/a> (GRS\u201987, CAMED\u201987, Hon.\u201923), presidential photographer Pete Souza<\/a> (COM\u201976), and Tuskegee airman Lt. Col. Enoch Woodhouse<\/a> (LAW\u201955). Recipients of past Young Alumni Awards have included orchestra conductor Lina Gonz\u00e1lez-Granados<\/a> (CFA\u201920), state representative Andy X. Vargas<\/a> (CAS\u201915, Pardee\u201915), and celebrity chef Priyanka Naik<\/a> (CAS\u201910). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, at Boston University\u2019s 76th Best of BU Alumni Awards\u2014celebrated during Alumni Weekend<\/a>\u2014BU honored the accomplishments of five exceptional alumni whose work pushes boundaries of journalism, the arts, advocacy, and medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Along with Aduba and Hurd, fellow Terriers who received the honor in 2024 were Kate Barrand (Questrom\u201985), Daniel Levy (CAMED\u201980), and Em Nguyen (COM\u201915).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
