Emily Ranii is a director and teaching artist who serves as the Academic Program Head for the Summer Theatre Institute in the School of Theatre. She also serves as Artistic Director of Wheelock Family Theatre at BU (2018-2019 Season: Gooney Bird Greene, Ragtime, and James and the Giant Peach) and teaches acting for BU’s School of Music Opera Institute. She has previously taught for Cornell University (Visiting Lecturer) and BU’s School of Theatre. Boston area directing credits include: Mrs. Packard for Bridge Repertory Theatre Company and Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company; Tongue of a Bird for New Repertory Theatre; The Cradle Will Rock, Hydrogen Jukebox, and Sweets by Kate for BU. She has also directed for Playmakers Repertory Company, Burning Coal Theatre Company (Company Member), and Cornell University (Alumni Guest Director). Emily holds a BA from Cornell University as well as an MFA (Directing) and Certificate (Arts Administration) from Boston University.
