5 BU CFAers Win Boston Theatre Awards
The biggest night in Boston theatre celebrates BU members with Elliot Norton Awards
Awards were presented on Monday, May 8, 2023, at the Huntington Theatre to 34 outstanding actors, directors, designers, choreographers, musicians, and productions at the 40th Anniversary Elliot Norton Awards ceremony, the biggest night in Boston theatre!
We’re proud to see BU School of Theatre alums, faculty, and students recognized with Elliot Norton Awards, presented annually by the Boston Theater Critics Association (BTCA).
Talk about pent-up demand! After three years, this theater community came together and packed the house! On our 40th anniversary, they took the stage as the stars of the show, and took home the honors in 34 expanded, genderless categories, with a DJ on deck and a fabulous, onstage after-party. I’m celebrating—and already thinking about next season!
This was a special event, as it marked the return to a live ceremony following three years of disruption due to the pandemic. This year, the BTCA implemented a number of new initiatives, including removing gender from acting categories, expanding design categories, and issuing a “Critics’ Pick” seal of approval to Boston theater companies.
Join us in congratulating the BU-affiliated Norton Award recipients!
