Hathor Winds Invited to Fischoff Quarter-Finals

The Hathor Winds were recently invited to participate in the quarter-finals of the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition.  Hathor, a woodwind quintet counting four Boston University alumni among its members, will be competing from May 6-8, 2016, in South Bend, Indiana. The Fischoff, founded in 1973, is the largest chamber music competition in the world.

Hathor’s members include:

  • Allison Parramore, flute (CFA studies toward a Performance Diploma)
  • Alicia Maloney, oboe (CFA BM ’11, MM (Music Education) ’12, PD ’14)
  • Nick Brown, clarinet (CFA BM ’15)
  • Hillary Erb, bassoon (CFA MM ’15)
  • Nick Auer, horn

Members of the quintet have studied with CFA faculty members Linda Toote, Mark McEwen, Robert Sheena, and Ethan Sloane, and former faculty member Richard Ranti.
