Information for Incoming Freshmen

Welcome to the Boston University College of Fine Arts! We look forward to having you join us as members of the Class of 2023!

Below you’ll find information on course registration (managed by your professional advisor – Music, Theatre, Visual Arts) and a checklist of information that you’ll want to review prior to arrival in the fall.

Fall Semester Registration:

All CFA entering freshmen need to register for CFA FA 100 (2.0 credits), Doing, Making & Knowing: The CFA Experience. This course meets on Thursdays, 9-10:45am and is required for all CFA freshmen. Your foundation courses for your individual discipline will be registered by your professional advisors in each school. This will be done prior to your attendance at Orientation.

Go ahead and register for FA 100, and the advisors will incorporate the remainder of your schedule (CFA courses and Writing section) accordingly.

Don’t worry – any concerns or issues will be sorted out at Orientation.

Pre-Arrival Checklist:

Take a look at the information outlined below, and use as a reference, prior to your arrival on campus.
