Emily Ranii (She/Her/Hers) has served as Artistic Director of Wheelock Family Theatre since 2018, Academic Program Head of Boston University’s Summer Theatre Institute from 2013-2020, and Lecturer for Boston University’s Opera Institute since 2013. She has Boston-area directing credits from Wheelock Family Theatre, Boston University Opera Institute and School of Theatre, New Repertory Theatre, and Bridge Repertory Theatre Company/Playhouse Creatures Theatre Company. Regionally, she has directed for Playmakers Repertory Company, Cornell University, Burning Coal Theatre Company, and ArtsCenter Stage.
Emily has previously served as Assistant Professor of Performing Arts at Wheelock College, Visiting Lecturer for Cornell University, and Artistic Director for ArtsCenter Stage in Carrboro, North Carolina. She has taught courses in Acting, Directing, Movement, Collaborative Theatre Ensemble, Improvisation, History of Musical Theatre, Aesthetics, Shakespeare, and Public Speaking.
