The fee has two types: the Part-Time Application Fee and Full-Time Application Fee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CELOP English Plus Credit Program BU Course Tuition<\/strong>: This tuition is based on part-time tuition rates at Metropolitan College and reflects the total MET tuition for enrolling in a 4-unit MET course. Students in the English Plus Credit program are only eligible to enroll in one 4-unit MET course. Please refer to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/met\/admissions\/tuition-and-fees\/\">MET Tuition &amp; Fees page<\/a> for more information.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Health Insurance Plan<\/strong>: All students are required to have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/celop\/admissions\/health-requirements\/\">health insurance<\/a>. In the fall term, this amount provides health insurance coverage for the fall, spring, and summer terms. Students studying only for the fall term can request an adjustment to cover that term only. For the spring term, this amount provides health insurance for the spring and summer term. The fee for the summer term covers that term only.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Room<\/strong>: Students may choose to live in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/living\/\">Boston University Housing<\/a> for eligible programs. This amount is based on costs for a shared room (two or more students) in a dormitory-style residence. Students may be assigned other room types. Students are not required to live on-campus. For students living off-campus, this amount is an estimated figure used for immigration (I-20) purposes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Meal Plan<\/strong>: All students living in Boston University housing are required to have a meal plan. The Meal Plan cost quoted for the fall and spring terms is the standard Open Access Meal Plan. The Meal Plan cost quoted for the summer term is for 14 meals per week. Other meal plan options are available.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Total Estimated Expenses<\/strong>: Students must provide financial documents that match or exceed the total estimated expenses of the program they are applying for in order to receive an I-20 Certificate of Eligibility. The total estimated expenses includes the tuition and fees paid to BU plus an estimated cost for personal expenses (books, supplies, and other expenses, your actual expenses may differ). To view a list of total estimated expenses by program, click here.<\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Requirements for Financial Documents <\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be written in English.<\/li>\n<li>Must be dated within 9 months of the start date of the program you are applying for.<\/li>\n<li>Must show liquid (cash) funds in a checking or savings account.<\/li>\n<li>Must show funds that match or exceed the Total Estimated Expenses of the program you are applying for.<\/li>\n<li>Must be signed by a bank official.<\/li>\n<li>If financial documents are NOT in the student\u2019s name, the student must also submit an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/celop\/affidavit-of-support\/\">Affidavit of Support form.<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/celop\/files\/2026\/02\/DEPENDENT-EXPENSES-for-2025-2026.pdf\">Information on Expenses for Dependents<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Payment Options <\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Login to your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/mybu\/\">MyBU Student portal.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>On the left side of your dashboard, there is a section called financials, click on the arrow to see all the options.<\/li>\n<li>Under Financials you can check your balance owed under \u201cStudent Account Balance\u201d. Under \u201cStudent Account Details\u201d\u00a0 you can see a breakdown of you account charges. You must bring this document to your bank to start the transfer. The vendor will then transfer the funds to Boston University.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Check<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>All checks must be made payable to \u201cBoston University\u201d and must be in U.S. dollars (USD).<\/li>\n<li>You must include you name and BU ID number on the check.<\/li>\n<li>Bring or mail your check to:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Student Accounting Services<br \/>\n25 Buick Street, Suite 130<br \/>\nBoston, MA 02215<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Other<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>If you do not have access to MYBU Student, electronic payments can be made by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/payment\">clicking here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Students accepted to CELOP must pay all tuition and fees before the start of the program.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>CELOP does not offer scholarships or financial aid.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Student Withdrawal and Refund Policy<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p>CELOP students requesting a refund for all or a portion of their program must first complete an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/celop\/admissions\/dates-fees\/program-withdrawal-and-refund-policy-request-form\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">official withdrawal form<\/a> or email celop@bu.edu with their intent to withdraw. Absence from class does not constitute withdrawal. It may, however, result in the student being dropped from the program, if SEVIS requirements are not met. The following refund schedule is observed once a completed withdrawal form or email has been received, with the date of receipt being the determining factor for calculating refund percentage.<\/p>\n<p><strong>12 week or longer program, if withdrawal application received: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before the start of the program, 100% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During first week of program, 90% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During second week of program, 75% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>After the second week of the program there will be no refund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>6-11 week programs,<\/strong> <strong>if<\/strong> <strong>withdrawal application received: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before the start of the program, 100% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During first week of program, 75% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During second week of program, 50% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>After the second week of the program there will be no refund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>3-5 week programs,<\/strong> <strong>if<\/strong> <strong>withdrawal application received: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before the start of the program, 100% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During first week of program, 50% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>During second week of program, 25% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>After the second week of the program there will be no refund<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Programs shorter than 3 weeks, if withdrawal application is received:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before the start of the program, 100% of tuition will be refunded.<\/li>\n<li>Once the program begins, there will be no refund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><em>*Applies to all programs EXCEPT those that have a separately communicated refund policy.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As per university policy, the refund percentage applies to tuition only.
