Her work involved testing simulations of computational models of engineered heart tissues.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">More about My Experience<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\"><\/p>\n<p><span>Muna was interested in the use of biomedical engineering in assisting in the diagnosis or treatment of immunocompromised conditions such as cancer. Muna wanted to pursue a career in public health advocacy and use nanotechnology\u2019s present role in patients\u2019 health to inform future methods of treatment suitable for underrepresented populations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Muna was a senior at Smith College in Northampton, MA when she became an REU.
