We have created a suite of programs to aid us in this effort. This work requires engagement all along the educational spectrum from preK to postdoctoral training to ignite and sustain interest, create a sense of belonging, build curiosity, and increase preparedness to enter the job market.<\/p>\n<h2>Research Opportunities<\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">High School Students<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">Programs for high school students range from dual enrollment to summer research experiences. Successful applicants will, first, learn about and participate in cutting edge engineering research. Then, they will get to work with other K-12 teachers to develop and refine the curriculum for their classroom. These ambassadors introduce younger learners to the excitement of biomedical engineering by leading interactive, hands-on activities in the classroom, virtually, or at events. CELL-MET activities are incorporated in three different programs. (the Engineering Engagement Kit) is the result of collaboration between CELL-MET researchers and staff and 13 science museums. It occurs in February during Engineering Week. It is an amazing opportunity for K-12 students to explore the endless possibilities and amazing research happening at FIU. CELL-MET faculty, trainees and staff participate through opening up their laboratories as well as creating and facilitating activities.<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/succeed.fiu.edu\/research\/cd-ssec-projects\/engineering-expo\/\">Learn more<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<h2>Cross-Institutional Trainings and Experiences<\/h2>\n<div class=\"bu_collapsible_container \" aria-live=\"polite\" data-customize-animation=\"false\"><h3 class=\"bu_collapsible\" aria-expanded=\"false\"tabindex=\"0\" role=\"button\">Innovation Days<\/h3><div class=\"bu_collapsible_section\" style=\"display: none;\">This annual two-day networking event brings together CELL-MET trainees and industry professionals. In advance of this event, CELL-MET trainees work in teams to develop a business idea and receive mentorship and feedback from industry partners.
