She has worked internationally in Kenya, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Bolivia. She completed her internal medicine residency, infectious disease fellowship training, and master\u2019s degree in population health science at Boston University, during which time she developed a particular research focus on Chagas disease.
