Dr. Pranay Sinha is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine and an Infectious Diseases physician at Boston Medical Center.<\/p>\n
He earned his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale\u2013New Haven Hospital, graduating with a distinction in Global Health and Equity. He subsequently pursued fellowship training in Infectious Diseases at Boston University and obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University.<\/p>\n
Dr. Sinha\u2019s research focuses on tuberculosis and the role of undernutrition in shaping infectious disease outcomes among vulnerable populations. His work integrates epidemiology and health economics to identify cost-effective nutritional interventions that can improve TB outcomes in resource-limited settings. He conducts research in India, Benin, and Togo, and advocates for embedding social determinants within TB programs and policies. Increasingly, he is also studying how environmental factors \u2014 such as overcrowding, ventilation, and climate change \u2014 influence TB transmission and outcomes.<\/p>\n
He co-founded and co-chairs the TB\u2013Undernutrition Working Group at the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease, where he contributes to global advocacy and policy efforts with the United Nations and World Health Organization. He has also collaborated with the Government of India to expand nutritional and anti-helminthic support for people affected by tuberculosis.<\/p>\n
At Boston Medical Center, Dr. Sinha remains an active clinician and educator.
